The Preservation of French Art is
one of the oldest societies for safeguarding French heritage.
It was founded in 1921 by Édouard Mortier, duc de Trévise to
prevent the destruction and foreign sale of elements of our
historical and artistic heritage. It has been serving heritage
for 80 years. Since the bequest, in 1972, of Aliette de Rohan Chabot,
marquise de Maillé, it has been mainly devoted to assisting municipalities
and private owners in preserving churches and chapels
in danger.
