Paris, Picard, In-4 broché, 2007, 178 pp., illustrated dust‑jacket, very numerous plans, maps and photographic illustrations in black and colour in‑text. Index. La Sauvegarde de l'Art Français is one of the oldest societies for the preservation of French heritage. It was founded in 1921 by Edouard Mortier, duc de Trevise to prevent the destruction and export sale of elements of our historical and artistic heritage. It has been serving heritage for 80 years. Since the bequest, in 1972, of Aliette de Rohan Chabot, marquise de Maille, it is mainly devoted to helping municipalities and private owners preserve churches and chapels in danger.
