The Tintamarre is a French satirical weekly from 1882, measuring 48 x 33 cm, in half-leather binding. It's the 41st year, featuring 8 pages weekly with some foxing. Launched on April 2, 1843, by Jules Lovy and Auguste Commerson, it aimed to critique advertising and satirize puffists. Most articles bear pseudonyms, with Lovy and Commerson often using 'Joseph Citrouillard'. Its circulation peaked at 2,300 copies in 1850, but publication ceased on December 31, 1899, after 2,672 issues. Despite the rarity of its humorous illustrations, the Tintamarre is credited as a direct ancestor of the Chained Duck.
