First posthumous edition. 3 volumes in-8°, X, 391, 407, 420 pp. Half-leather binding with wear to spines, yellow page edges, minor margin loss on one leaf, interior well preserved. This work contains detailed accounts of the author's relationships with Duclos, J.-J. Rousseau, Grimm, Diderot, Baron d'Holbach, Saint-Lambert, Mme d'Houdetot, and other celebrated figures of the eighteenth century. Includes numerous unpublished letters from Grimm, Diderot, and J.-J. Rousseau that serve as clarification and correction to Rousseau's Confessions. (Brunet, II, 1018).
