Pleasant copy and beautiful edition of two collections of the encyclopedic poems of Guillaume de Bartas (1544-1590): La Sepmaine (La Semaine), published in 1578, and La Seconde Semaine (the first two Days only), published in 1584. These texts glorifying God are defenses of Renaissance encyclopedism and Faith; the Copernican system is therefore considered a chimera. The author enjoyed great success until the 17th century. An extensive introduction by Michel Braspart precedes the two texts
