This biographical work, written by Canon L. Dantin, recounts the life and episcopate of Mgr Laurence, Bishop of Tarbes between 1845 and 1870, a central figure associated with the Marian apparitions at Lourdes in 1858. Published in 1931 by Éditions Spes, this in-12 volume is bound in paper wrappers with a worn spine and slightly damaged covers. The copy, comprising sixteen pages of preface followed by 495 pages of text, offers a historical and ecclesiastical account of this pivotal period of the apparitions and their recognition by the Church.
