Accompanied by 4 leaves entirely handwritten by the author from April 1914 (manuscript of the preface) and 2 handwritten letters from the author to his friend Marcel, to whom he offers these 4 handwritten leaves. Charles Derennes (1882-1930) was a French writer, son of historian and Breton writer Gustave Derennes. Born in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, he studied at the École Normale Supérieure, obtained a degree in letters in 1903, and frequented literary salons including that of Anna de Noailles. He received the Archon-Desperouses prize in 1907 and served as a military nurse during World War I.
