This collection, belonging to the classic and didactic genre, gathers the moral and satirical fables that made the author famous, here enriched with softground copperplate plates reflecting Oudry’s naturalistic and expressive style. The volume presents a definite bibliophilic interest for lovers of old illustrations and French literature, its appeal being enhanced by the combination of a foundational text and a high‑quality iconographic corpus. The physical condition of the copy, as described, suggests careful preservation despite the signs of use or age inherent in an antique book.
