Published in Aux Deux-Ponts, at the Ducal Printing House, 1776, in 2 small octavo volumes, XVI-309 and 236-[2] pages. Full leather binding, marbled edges, corners worn, missing headband on one volume, one endpaper offset. This was the recipient of Beaumarchais' famous letter written from the prison of For-l'Evêque: “What can be done? Wherever there are men, there are odious things happening, and the great fault of being right is always a crime...”. Original edition, very rare.
