Dedicated to those who championed its reconstruction. Authentic account of the Clichy cottage, a modest dwelling belonging to vintner Morisset, demolished in 1819 by a wealthy neighboring landowner under the pretext of obstructed views. The affair provoked significant public outrage and led to a subscription campaign for reconstruction. Frontispiece features a fold-out lithography showing the demolition scene.
