Damaged title page, small cut to crown. 3ff + folding engraving + 218 pp. Features an engraving depicting the demolished cottage by order of authority. Dedicated to those who supported its recovery. Recounts the authentic history of the Clichy cottage, a small house owned by vintner Morisset, demolished in 1819 by a wealthy neighboring property owner claiming it obstructed his view. The affair provoked immense indignation and led to a subscription campaign for its reconstruction. Folding lithographic title page depicts the demolition scene.
