André Breton's 'Les Manifestes du surréalisme' accompanied by 'Prolégomènes à un troisième manifeste du surréalisme ou non' and 'Du surréalisme en ses œuvres vives', published by Éditions du Sagittaire in 1955. Large format (18.3 x 20.8 cm), 160 pages, with illustrated covers on both boards. Minor tear without loss on the cover. Designed by Pierre Faucheux with photographic documents organized by the latter, featuring works by Man Ray, Denise Bellon, Czigany, Elisa, Fachetti, Harcourt, Jérôme, Dora Maar, Stieglitz, Styrsky, and Surrealist Archives. Complete with the original glass monocle for reading the ephemeris printed in tiny letters on the endpapers, attached by a ribbon and embedded in a cut-out of the final pages. Original collective edition, one of 300 numbered and signed copies by André Breton, here no. 25, with six original Surrealist butterflies inserted in a numbered envelope.
