Princesse Sapho le tutu; the most mysterious novel of the 19th century. Published by TRISTRAM, in 2008, 240 pp. A beautiful copy. All characters in Tutu are eccentric, extravagant, or monstrous. The first, Mauri de Noirof, marries a wealthy, overweight heiress, engages with a two-headed woman from circuses, becomes a deputy and Minister of Justice, and participates in grotesque anatomical orgies with his mother. Printed in 1891 by Léon Genonceaux, discovered by Pascal Pia in 1966; publicly released in 1991 by Editions Tristram, causing shock among critics and readers. The lack of a clearly identified author and modern writing style has led to speculation about authenticity, but it is now irrefutably established. This definitive edition contains an unpublished postscript by Julian Rios, a revival of Pascal Pia's foundational text, and a detailed illustrated investigation into the amazing fate of this unconventional novel by Rimbaud and Lautréamont specialist Jean-Jacques Lefrère.
