Czech poet and photographer Jindřich Heisler (1914–1953) joined the Czech Surrealist Group in 1938, just as Nazi occupation forced the movement underground. He published his first poetry book the following year. Despite his brief career—he died at 38—Heisler created some of the most striking assemblage works of the Surrealist movement. This catalog explores his work from 1938 to 1953, richly illustrated in color and black-and-white, with 144 pages in a 26 x 21 cm hardcover format with dust jacket.
