ROMAIN (Jules). Exhibition catalog from the Grand Palais (Paris). 1978. Éditions des Musées Nationaux. Octavo, square format, 152 pages. Numerous black and color illustrations outside text. Bibliography. This tapestry is the tenth and final piece of a wall hanging whose cartoons were copied by François Bonnemer and preserved in Brussels at the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne. It was inspired by a great tapestry presented to Francis I in 1535 depicting the military exploits of Scipio. Eight tapestries are displayed in the Louvre Museum; the other two are in the collections of the Mobilier national. Fine copy.
