Otherwise a rare copy. François Gacon (Lyon 1667–1725), a satirical poet, attacked numerous contemporary writers with sustained and often crude vigor. His satires earned him many enemies, several months of imprisonment, and beatings. Gacon particularly targeted Bossuet and Boileau.
