Paris, Didot l’Aîné, An IX (1801). 20 volumes grand in-12 (20 × 12 cm), illustrated with a portrait of Rousseau by A. de Saint‑Aubin as frontispiece in the first volume and 24 plates inserted, including 15 engraved music plates (one folding), a table and a folding fac‑simile. The 24 figures are taken from the collection of 64 engraved figures under the direction of Jean‑Baptiste Dupréel after Moreau, Le Barbier, Chasselat, Mayer… Fresh interior. VIII, 314, 475, 504, 297, 532, 423, 416, 426, IV, 352, 298, 464, LXIII & 355, 519, 408, 428, 342, 431, 298, 412, 337 pp.
Superb vellum binding signed by F. Bozérian, smooth spine adorned with interlaced gold straight fillets, title pieces in black Morocco and a black Morocco badge piece for the tomes, blue marbled endpapers with red veins, rollers with ripple detailing on the boards, all edges gold‑edged, 3 volumes with a partial crack at the fore edge. Green and white silk edge fillets. Green silk bookmark. Enriched with a fine ex‑libris in each volume (C. Mc Master Brookville‑Donnybrook).
