Published by Charles Antoine Jombert, Paris 1750. Full leather binding, brick-colored edges, worn corners, missing upper headband, slight rubbing on one cover, 5 cm crack on spine, fresh interior. Quarto format (20.5 x 26 cm), VI & 240 pages. First edition illustrated with 110 plates (plus 15 duplicate plates) separate from text illustrating perspective lessons and 56 allegorical tailpieces by Babel. Final 9 plates depict architectural orders. Work divided into 116 mathematical lessons applicable to painting, architecture, and other disciplines, each lesson accompanied by facing plate.
