Bret Theater by Mr. Bret. Member of the Academies of Dijon and Nancy. Paris, published by L. Clerc, Esprit, 1778. Two volumes in-8°. Volume 1: (2) ff., 1 engraved title, 356 pp. Volume 2: (3) ff., 352 pp., (1) f., missing half-title page. Beautiful full marbled Havana calfskin binding with smooth spine richly decorated with fillets, fleurons and gilded motifs, marbled edges, boards framed with triple gilt fillets. Condition: one bumped corner, small galleries of verses in margins (approximately fifteen leaves), minor loss at joint level, edges and joint rubbed. Contemporary binding. Each volume bears the full coat of arms of a Marquise (to be identified).
