The book is in fair condition with a torn spine and two detached covers (half leather with raised corners and gold fillets; edges rubbed), but with gilded top edges. Original edition richly illustrated, featuring nine frontispieces, eleven portraits of Molière, fifteen of Armande Béjart, four of Madeleine Molière, twelve scenes from Molière's theatre, and twelve photogravures. A small tear at the outer margin of one page, otherwise a beautiful copy deserving of a restoration of the binding. Shipping outside the European Union is chargeable.
