No title pages, undated, no publisher name, the book was bound after its release in deliveries published between 1879 and 1882 (complete), 5 volumes, octavo, 28 x 20 cm, half-leather binding, damaged caps, worn corners, rubbed edges, page 359-360 leaf (torn and frayed), 2 cracked joints, some foxing. Wonderfully illustrated with hundreds of wood engravings including frontispieces, illustrated by Emile Bayard, Alphonse de Neuville, Gustave Brion, Jean-Paul Laurens, Edgar Morin, Daniel Vierge, Adrien Marie, Eugène Delacroix, Y.
