Originally compiled from the author's personal notes and memories, these memoirs were printed privately for distribution to friends rather than for general publication. BOUSSINGAULT was an eminent botanist, chemist, and agronomist who served as professor of chemistry at the Faculty of Lyon and later held the chair of agriculture at the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts. He was also a member of the Council of State.
