Half-morocco binding with gilt edges (signed Magnier), showing wear at spine heads, corners and binding edges; 3 leaves slightly misaligned. Includes study on Christian art by E. CARTIER. Contains 180 black, white and bistre engravings (some folding plates at end), executed by Huyot père et fils, and 16 color chromolithographs from artistic monuments spanning catacombs to contemporary times.
