Jean Pommerol (1859–1921), a pseudonym for Lucie Guenot, was a writer and officer of Public Instruction. She spent two years in the Sahara following military expeditions, documenting the lives of Bedouin women. Contributor to Minerva (1902) and several illustrated reports for Le Monde illustré. Widow of Paul Bertrand, later married to Commandant Gabriel Farouel.
