Comprehensive survey of ancient Javanese sculpture and ethnographic artifacts from the Dutch East Indies, published to coincide with the colonial exhibition in Amsterdam. Plates feature wooden statuettes, gold and bronze Buddhas, idols, weapons, shawls, cotton paintings, puppets and ceremonial objects from Bali, Java, Sumba, Damar and Borneo.
