Comprehensive documentation of the Dutch colony of Indonesia, featuring ancient Javanese sculpture and ethnographic artifacts from throughout the archipelago. Published to coincide with the colonial exhibition in Amsterdam. Plates depict wooden statuettes, gold and bronze Buddhas, idols, weapons, shawls, paintings on cotton, puppets and other objects from Bali, Java, Sumba, Damar and Borneo.
