Published by Belin-Leprieur et Morizot, Paris, 1847. Two volumes in-8° format (16 x 24 cm), III, 496 & 476 pages. Handsome half-leather binding (with Versailles college medallion), minor damp stains on the rear cover of the second volume, slight foxing, illustrated with wood engravings and plates, some in color. Jacques-Bernard Hombron (1798-1852), a naval surgeon, was a friend of Dumont d'Urville with whom he circumnavigated the globe aboard the Astrolabe.
