Features a color vignette on the upper cover, a facsimile of Gauguin's manuscript with additional illustrations, watercolors, wood engravings, monotypes, and photographs. Preface by Jean-Marie DALLET. Produced by Gilles ARTUR, Jean-Pierre FOURCADE, Jean-Pierre ZINGG. Includes 43 color illustrations, 13 in black & white, and 10 handmade page fragments. 37 facsimile pages of writing in three different black inks. This splendid work received the Vasari Prize for Art Publishing in 1987 for quality of printing and photogravure. A beautiful copy.
