Department of Gers decreed on January 28, 1790 by the National Assembly. Paris, PG Chanlaire and Veuve Dumez, engraved by François d'Houdan. 590 x 860 mm (edges to edges). First printed map of the department of Gers, engraved for the National Atlas of France, divided into 5 districts (sub-prefectures) and 29 cantons (justices of the peace). Auch as prefecture, with sub-prefecture towns and main communes indicated. Scale: 20,000 toises and 40,000 meters. On untrimmed laid paper with small cuts and halos in margins; small heat mark (5 mm) at edge near Sauveterre commune. Well-preserved beautiful object.
