First edition (Travaux et mémoires de l'Institut d'ethnologie, LVII). Masterful ethnological study of a village in Seine-Maritime bordering Picardy. Published by the École pratique des Hautes Études. Nouville is a commune of 613 inhabitants in 1946, located on the Bresle river, at the borders of Normandy and Picardy. Glass works have been established there since the late 18th century, giving the village a dual agricultural and working-class population. Fine copy.
