Description

Émile Desbeaux's "L'aventure de Paul Solange", published in 1888 in squared quarto format, features 295 pages with scattered foxing. It is illustrated with 100 black compositions both in and out of text by various artists including Borione, Brun, Forcade, Clair, Guyot, Mouchot, and Toussaint. The book opens with a frontispiece by Rochegrosse and features engravings by Méaulle. The publisher's binding is in full percaline with gold and black on a red background, signed by Engel. It has gilded edges, a beautiful gutter, slightly bumped corners, and minor scattered wear. The spine and first cover have faded colors, while the back cover exhibits a vibrant red color with a beautiful black decoration, featuring floral motifs in the corners and center.
