Description

Émile Desbeaux's "L'aventure De Paul Solange" published by Paul Ducrocq, Paris in 1888. This square quarto book contains 295 pages with scattered foxing and features 100 black illustrations by Borione, Brun, Forcade, Clair, Guyot, Mouchot, and Toussaint. It includes a frontispiece by Rochegrosse and an engraving by Méaulle. The publisher's binding is in full percaline gold and black on a red background, signed Engel. The edges are gilded with a beautiful gutter; the corners are rounded with slight wear, the spine and the first cover are faded, while the last cover is a vibrant red with an attractive black design adorned with floral motifs in the corners and center.
