This splendid volume showcases treasure rooms from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, presenting a millennium of applied arts in Europe. Published between 1852-63, it is rich with 216 hand-colored copper engravings, depicting furniture, goldsmithing, jewelry, tapestries, and book covers. It includes notable pieces such as Matthias Corvin's golden cup and a lost ceremonial sword.
