Collation: 3ff + folding engraving + 218 pp. Authentic account of the Clichy cottage, a hovel owned by winegrower Morisset, demolished in 1819 by a wealthy neighboring proprietor claiming obstruction of view. The incident provoked widespread indignation and a public subscription was organized for its reconstruction. Frontispiece features a folding lithograph depicting the demolition scene. Volume dedicated to subscribers who aided recovery efforts.
