Illustrated with numerous black and white and color engravings on themes such as Aesop's Fables, the types of the Commune, the New Opera, the India of Rajahs, the Thugs, the royal standard of Baroda, popular scene types by Henry Monnier, the Tuileries under Henri IV, and the Luxembourg in the time of Marie de Medicis.
