Description
RIONNET (Florence) LES BRONZES BARBEDIENNE - L'oeuvre d'une dynastie des fondeurs Arthena. Deauville, 2016, Hardcover, large format (33 x 24.6 cm) (3630 gr). 572 pages with over 1300 illustrations including 200 in color. Founded in 1834, the Barbedienne House is the most illustrious art bronze company in France, achieving immense international prominence for over a century. Utilizing the revolutionary mechanical reduction technique invented by Collas, Barbedienne develops industrial production of small art bronzes. Their extensive repertoire ranges from Antiquity to contemporary sculpture (including works by Rodin, Mercié, Dubois, Fremiet, and especially Barye), catering to a burgeoning bourgeois clientele. They also excel in the production of award-winning art objects showcased in universal exhibitions and, bolstered by their reputation, are commissioned to create numerous monuments. This long-awaited reference work catalogs around two thousand models produced by the House.
