Edition du Sagitaire, 1955, (18.3 x 20.8 cm), 160 pages, sous couv. illustrated on both flaps, a small cut without missing material on the cover. Volume composed from the mock‑ups of Pierre Faucheux.
Photographic documents in an excellent arrangement by the latter, the photographs reproduced in this volume are by Man Ray, Denise Bellon, Czigany, Elisa, Fachetti, Harcourt, Jérôme, Dora Maar, Stieglitz, Styrsky, Archives surréalistes.
Complete with a glass monocle for reading the ephemeris printed in small letters on the guard pages, attached by a ribbon, and set into a cut‑out of the final pages of the volume.
Original collective edition, one of 300 numbered copies signed by André Breton, here no. 25, to which six original surrealist butterflies have been added, inserted in a numbered envelope.
