Format: 12 x 18 cm, 4 volumes, half-leather binding. Minor signs of damp stains on boards and occasional faint water stains. Gustave Aimard (born Olivier Gloux, 1818–1883) was a French adventure novelist, often serialized in newspapers like Le Moniteur and La Presse. Abandoned as a child, he led a life of adventure as a sailor, gold prospector, trapper, and soldier, traveling extensively in the Americas, Europe, and the Caucasus. His works frequently reflect his autobiographical experiences, particularly his search for his biological family and themes of abandonment and adoption.
