SECRET MISSION TO LONDON. The Petain-Churchill Accords
Cheval Aile, Geneve 1946, Brooch, 19cm x 14cm, 352 pp., very numerous documents including some in facsimile, appendices. Very worn copy The author (1889-1982), anti-Christian and liberal philosopher, close to Weygand, received a mission order for London at the end of October 1940; instrument of Vichy’s wait-and-see policy towards the British. In December 1940, he left for the USA, where he refused to recognize the legitimacy of fighting France. Purified after the war, he was a member of the Steering Committee of the Association for the Defense of the Memory of Marshal Petain in 1951 and exercised a great influence on the New Right and its thinker Alain de Benoist. The objective of the work is to accredit the thesis of the Marechal’s double game.
