Description

A new translation of Terence's comedies with the Latin text alongside and notes by Abbé Le Monnier. Published in Paris in 1771. Consists of three large volumes in octavo format (23.5 x 16 cm), comprising 24-591, 512, and 485 pages, beautifully bound in marbled leather signed by Jacquemart, with decorative endpapers, gilt headbands, and fresh interiors. This edition includes an engraved frontispiece and 6 exquisite figures by Cochin, engraved by Choffard, Prévoste, Rousseau, and Saint-Aubin. Additionally, our copy is enriched with a frontispiece engraving and 47 uncaptioned plates according to B. Picart from a 1717 copy, some of which are folding. A very fine copy of Terence's most esteemed translation.
