Description

ROUGIER Louis. MISSION SECRÈTE À LONDRES. Les Accords Pétain-Churchill. Cheval Aile, Geneva 1946. Softcover, 19cm x 14cm, 352 pp., numerous documents including facsimiles, appendices. Worn copy. Author (1889-1982), anti-Christian and liberal philosopher close to Weygand, received a mission order to London in late October 1940; instrument of Vichy's policy of watchful waiting toward the British. In December 1940, he departed for the USA, where he refused to recognize the legitimacy of Fighting France. Purged after the war, he became a member of the steering committee of the Association for the Defence of Marshal Pétain's Memory in 1951 and exercised great influence on the New Right and its leading thinker Alain de Benoist. The work's objective is to substantiate the thesis of the Marshal's double game.
