Mémoires du comte de Grammont, Paris, Werdet et Lequien, 1826, 85 x 130 mm, half-calf binding, brick-colored head, 216 & 262 pp, minor foxing here and there, illustrated with 4 engravings on strong paper. Rare edition by Antoine HAMILTON, a Scottish writer in French, lived in Versailles, author of 'Bélier' and 'Mémoires de la Vie du Comte de Grammont', who was his brother-in-law. He is the initiator of the satirical tale genre which strongly influenced libertines.
