First original collective edition of Alphonse de Lamartine’s works, published by Jules Boquet and Gosselin in Paris (1826 & 1830). Two volumes in octavo format, bound in half-leather with worn corners. Contains 1,424 pages (XIX + 364, 417, 340 & 353 pp.) with scattered foxing. Illustrated with a steel-engraved author portrait by Ch. Pye and five plates by Greathatch, Porbury and Watts after Desenne. Volume 1: Méditations poétiques, La Mort de Socrate, and Epîtres et poésies diverses. Volume 2: Nouvelles méditations poétiques, Le Dernier Chant du pèlerinage d'Harold, and Le Chant du Sacre. Volumes 3 and 4 feature the second edition of Harmonies poétiques et religieuses (1830) by Gosselin.
