Richly illustrated with numerous black-and-white vignettes in text, drawn by Riocreux and engraved by Leblanc. Uncut, in original wrappers (as issued), partially untrimmed. Title page of the last volume missing, 5 leaves with cuts (no loss), rear cover and last two table leaves of volume three lacking. Would benefit from a fine binding. Covers botany, plant physiology, ornamental and utility plant cultivation, greenhouse plants, vegetables, and fruit trees.
