Engraving size: 83 x 125 mm (mounted on strong paper). Pierre de Loisy was the first member of a French 17th-century engraver family. Born around 1575, he died around 1640. Appointed engraver of coins in Besançon, he passed this position to his son Jean de Loisy. He created maps, coats of arms, ex-libris, and portraits. According to Bénézit, his son was likely Pierre II Loisy (1619-1670) rather than Jean de Loisy.Related Products
