Facsimile edition of Paul Gauguin’s manuscript *Noa Noa*, enriched with illustrations, watercolors, wood engravings, monotypes, and photographs. Published in 1987 by the Association des Amis du Musée Gauguin (Tahiti) and the Gauguin and Oceania Foundation (New York). Large in-4 format (41x29 cm), bound in full jute cloth. Unpaginated (88 pp.), with a color vignette inset on the upper cover in a recessed medallion. Includes 43 color illustrations, 13 black-and-white illustrations, and 10 hand-pasted fragments of original pages. Features 37 facsimile pages of Gauguin’s handwriting in three different ink tones. Preface by Jean-Marie Dallet. Edited and presented by Gilles Artur, Jean-Pierre Fourcade, and Jean-Pierre Zingg. Awarded the 1987 Vasari Prize for outstanding print and photogravure quality. Very fine copy.
