Autograph manuscript letter signed by Gabriel de Lautrec (1867–1938), French novelist, poet, translator, and humorist. Cousin of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, he was a disciple of Alphonse Allais and a key figure in Parisian literary circles. Active in Montmartre’s cabarets and literary salons, he hosted gatherings attended by figures like Oscar Wilde, Paul Verlaine, and Alfred Jarry. Known for his wit and eccentricity, he founded the Académie de l’humour in 1930. His works include *Poèmes en prose* (1898) and translations of Mark Twain’s tales, prefaced by an essay on humor.
