Unbound, illustrated cover, housed in a box (worn), entirely engraved in etching, text and illustrations, printed on a hand press by Léon Courbouleix. 44 etchings, including one on the cover, a title vignette, and 42 in the text, of which 3 are full-page, with in-text decorations and tailpieces. Framed plates with a floral frieze printed in bistre. Large initials filled and colored in red at the start of paragraphs. One of ten copies not for sale, on super-nacre Japan paper, enriched with two original watercolors. Limited to 300 copies, including fifteen on Japan, and ten copies not for sale. Ours is one of the 10 artist’s copies on super-nacre Japan paper bearing his signature. Enhanced with two original watercolors and a suite in sanguine of the out-of-text illustrations, title, chapter heads, and cover. Delightful copy, well-preserved.
