In-12 size with [4]-337-[3] pages, beautifully bound in marbled full calf, gilt edges, slightly worn corners, with a 3 cm deficiency on one board. Features 2 medallion portraits by Gucher after Moreau and 4 full-page illustrations after Moreau le jeune engraved by Duclos, Launay, Prévost, and Simonet. One leaf restored; otherwise, the interior is well-preserved. Missing the engraved frontispiece by Cathelin after Ducreux. Original edition considered by Cohen as 'one of the most successful works of Moreau le jeune.'
