A monumental two-volume departmental atlas of France, Algeria, and French colonies, featuring 106 copper-engraved maps by G. Lorsignol. Each map is accompanied by explanatory texts covering historical, physical, geographical, biographical, administrative, statistical, archaeological, descriptive, and monumental perspectives. Published by Librairie Abel Pilon, Le Vasseur successeur, circa 1875. Oblong in-folio format (46 x 37.5 cm). Bound in half-green morocco with green calico boards, gilt decoration (Charles Magnier & Auguste Souze). Spine with raised bands, minor wear at lower headbands, fine cracks (3 cm) on the hinges of the first volume, a few frayed leaves, otherwise well-preserved interior. One large folding map with minor restoration at base and one leaf with two cuts but no loss. Part one: 93 colored departmental maps, each with two pages of accompanying text. Part two: Algeria and French colonies with statistical and biographical tables (XXXIV & 40 pp.), maps 94–106, and a 124-page list of French celebrities organized by department and alphabetically.
